After around nine months of intensive research and comparing offers, Ambros Huber, involving the future machine operators, decided on a 5-axis machining center from the GX series by Alzmetall.
The company now offers milling and turning in a single setup with up to 5 axes. With high-quality tooling, all requirements from mold making and mechanical engineering can be met.
For the extremely complex milling programs including turning operations, new CAM software was also acquired. Only a few providers could meet the requirements – the choice quickly fell on SolidCAM, whose associated hardware enables optimal program creation.
For optimal use in mold making, a tool-change spindle with a higher speed was also required. The choice fell on an air turbine from Henninger with up to 48,000 revolutions. The spindle can be automatically swapped via the tool changer, which also allows the use of drills under 1 mm in diameter.
With an investment sum of over half a million euros, this is the company's largest machine investment to date – a decision that positions AH excellently for future customer requirements.
